TUTORIAL NO. 2


Now that you have successfully downloaded and installed NetScape (I hope), then you are ready to learn how to use the various search engines available to you to find web sites, research topics, join newsgroups, upload and download files, etc. Searching the web is both an art and a science, in that many intuitive skills are required to be successful. Searches are separated into three broad categories.

Examples of KEYWORD searches are "Olympics", "Swimming", "Diving"

Examples of SUBJECTS AND TOPICS are "Business", "Sports",

Examples of GEOGRAPHICAL searches are "France", "Germany", "Switzerland" using the virtual tourist image map to find your information.

Examples of Newsgroups are "Travel", "Rock Concerts", "Movie Reviews"
